Staff Spotlight: Lori Molloy

Lori Molloy is the Junior High Secretary.  She was an honor graduate from Chandler High School in May 1998.  In August 1998, she started working at East Side in the Pre-k program.  Over the past 20 years working for Chandler Public Schools, Lori has worked in all the buildings at some point.

Q  What do you enjoy most about working for the school?
A  What I enjoy most about working here is being able to help the kids and teachers.  I love being a secretary because I also get to be a counselor, a nurse, a mom and a friend.

Q  If you could have any job for one day, what would it be?
A  If I could do any job for just one day, I would love to work on the labor/delivery floor at a hospital and take care of all the babies and the new mommies!

Q  What are three words people would use to describe you?
A  Three words that I hope people would use to describe me would be: cheerful; hard-working and high spirited.

Q  What was the best vacation you’ve taken?
A  The best vacation I have ever taken is the many summer trips to Branson with my parents, grandparents, brother and two aunts.  We went every year for like 18 years. We stayed in the same place each time and always went to music shows and played putt-putt!  Brills Rainbow Resort (which is no longer in existence) is where I learned how to swim and jump off the diving board and open my eyes under water!

Q  What are some hobbies you enjoy?
A  One of my favorite hobbies is to go camping at the lake with my husband , son and my parents.  I also enjoy going next door to my parent’s house and sitting on their front porch and watching the hummingbirds and just talking to my mom.

Q  What is something parents and students might be surprised to learn about you?
A  You might be surprised to know that I was a “grandma” before I was a mom.  Before Drake came to his forever home, I had 3 step-grandkids that I love dearly, one of which lives with me and her brother is with me most of the time!  I still get lots of stares when we are in town and they call me, “Grandma”!

Q  What are some items on your bucket list?
A  I want to go on a cruise!  And I want to be at Time Square in New York City when the ball drops on New Years!

Lori and Glenn will celebrate eight years of marriage in April.  They have been together for nearly 19 years.  They have one son, Drake Woodrow Molloy, who is 7-years-old. They adopted Drake when he was 10 months old.  Lori says this was the best thing she ever did!  Their granddaughter, Shealynn Roe, also lives with the Molloys.  She is 10.  Both kids attend school in Agra.
