Title VI Students Learn About Legends

This week the students have been learning about Native American legends.  The Kindergarten and 1st graders have learned the legend of the Thunderbird, and the 2nd graders have learned about the legend of the Dreamcatcher.  After learning and discussing these legends, the students got to make their own Thunderbirds and Dreamcatchers!

”They really enjoyed learning Native culture, and were able to apply it to their own lives and experiences. They were also thrilled to be able to make something to take home!” said Sarah Gross, the Title VI (Indian Education Program) teacher at East Side.
