CHS Students Place in Poetry Competition

Several CHS students submitted winning entries to the Wilma Elizabeth McDaniel's poetry competition.  ​The Awards Ceremony will be Sunday, April 23 at 2:30 p.m. at the Lincoln County Museum of Pioneer History in Chandler.

Wilma Elizabeth McDaniel was born in Lincoln county near Stroud and attended schools in Lincoln and Creek counties.  Her family migrated to California when she was 17.  She wrote and published poetry all her life about her life experiences.  This poetry contest is open to Lincoln and Creek county students.  It is sponsored by Friends of Libraries in Oklahoma, OSU Library, Back40 Publishing, friends of the late Wilma Elizabeth McDaniel, Stroud Public Library and Lincoln County Museum of Pioneer History.
